With the Halloween season creeping up on us, fill your October weekends with these thrilling events you can do with your family and friends. From haunted houses and parades to bar crawls and cabarets, here is a list of festivities you’ll be dying to attend!
A Wicked Weekend of Family Fun:
Glow At the Gardens is a Halloween special at the Denver Botanic Gardens with luminaria-lined pathways decorated with spooking lighting and glowing gourds. Pumpkin artists will be featured with their larger-than-life sculptures and detailed pumpkin masterpieces. There will also be a wide variety of activities and entertainment with autumnal food and beverages. The event runs from October 19–24.
A family favorite, the Broadway Halloween Parade is on for its fourth year. It features floats, bands and marchers filled with Halloween spirit. Show off your costume as you join this day of fun on October 23, and be sure to bring this Halloween bash to a close by shambling in the street at the end of the parade.
Enjoy not one but two weekends of Halloween festivities at McGregor Square. The McGregor Scare is filled with pumpkin carving, face painting and watching Halloween classics on the lawn. Children can participate in Trick-or-Treat Street on October 30 and get a head start on the candy collection. McGregor Scare is a full day of fun from October 22–24 and October 29–31.
The Adults’ Haunted Halloween Nights:
Do you love a good spine-chilling thrill? Named the Number 1 scariest attraction in the U.S. by Fangoria Magazine, the 13th Floor Haunted House contains three hours of horror tours. This year’s eerie attractions include Frost-Bite, a high-tech cryogenics lab that successfully reanimates the dead, and Bad Blood, a gory battle between vampires and werewolves. Featuring intricate set designs, a stellar cast and spectacular special effects makeup looks, you will be in for a night of nail-biting terror. Buy your tickets now before they sell out. The attraction runs until November 1 and will also be open for the first two weekends of November.
For the Music Lovers:
Any American Horror Story Fans out there? The Denver Horror Story Cabaret is a burlesque show that pays homage to the iconic characters from the TV show “American Horror Story.” It will be an entertaining night on October 20 in the most haunted room of the Clocktower Cabaret.
Have a fun Halloweek at Red Rocks with the various concerts scheduled for the last week of October. Here are the events:

For the Ghoulish Drinkers:
Join the Halloween Zombie Crawl that will take over Denver’s LoDo district. Dress up and come over to pick up your zombie survival kit. You will receive a map of all the participating bars and nightclubs along with information about entry and drink specials. Join the hellish horde of pub crawlers on October 30!
