After three years at the University of Wyoming, he returned to his Denver roots and graduated from Metropolitan State College of Denver. Craig's wife, Jenny, is a social worker who received her MA degree from the University of Denver. They live in Highlands Ranch with their herding dog, Simba, and enjoy the active Colorado lifestyle of skiing, hiking, and mountain biking, as well as watching the Denver Broncos and Colorado Avalanche.

Craig also has deep roots in real estate. He grew up in the real estate business listening to John Burns, his father and one of the original owners of the Kentwood Company, give help and care to his many clients. He learned how important it is to give each client personal and caring service. Before becoming a real estate broker, Craig worked in delivery and customer service for a large Denver Automotive Conglomerate.
